Gracious Townhome

This Boston bachelorette pad is a single girl's fantasy home. It belongs to a jet-setting business exec who needed a serene escape from her hectic schedule. If you're constantly on the road for work, a beautifully designed apartment is probably low on your list of priorities. For this on-the-go business exec, however, being out of town so often is actually what inspired her to remodel her condo in Boston's South End. "I wanted this new place to be more elevated and soothing, as my job is incredibly busy and I travel a lot. When I'm home I want that feeling of relaxation," she says. "But I also wanted some fun, unexpected touches and since the space is all mine, I don't have to compromise on what I want." The result, she adds, is a perfect mix of serene colors, modern and traditional elements, and some real personality brought in through wallpaper and art. If anything can be said of this single cosmopolitan woman's taste, it's the she has an affinity for hyper-femme decor. From gentle pastels to soft textures, interior designer Erin Gates took this "study in femininity," as she calls it, very seriously. I'm in love, what about you?
